Year 1892
Hotel Ostsee
first half of the 20th century
Spa hotels in Świnoujście
Thanks to this, the Hotel Ostsee in Swinemünde was a place where elegant relaxation was combined with natural treatments by the Baltic Sea. To this day, traveling towards Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf or Bansin, you can find similar preserved spa hotels that represent the shared heritage of spa architecture of the entire Baltic coast region.
reconstruction
Quick return
During World War II the building was severely damaged. In the post-war reconstruction period, in the second half of the 20th century, the facility was rebuilt in a style characteristic of the 1960s, simplified and functional. During this period, it operated, among others, as the Hotel Orbis Continental, and then – in the 1980s – as the Mostostal holiday home, still serving as a recreational facility.
End of the 20th century
Alga holiday resort
In the 1990s, the property was purchased by a private investor and operated under the name Alga Holiday Center. A milestone came in 2007 when the facility took its current name – Hotel Irys, continuing the tradition of a place created for relaxation and regeneration by the sea.
21st century
Boutique Residence Irys
In 2010, a thorough modernization was carried out, which completely transformed the appearance of the building. The architecture of the facility was designed with a clear reference to classic spa hotels from the early 20th century, restoring its elegance, harmony, and timeless style.
Today, Boutique Residence Irys is a modern boutique residence on the Baltic Sea, which in its architecture and philosophy refers to the former Hotel Ostsee – Kurhotel Swinemünde, combining over 130 years of spa hotel tradition with comfort, tranquility, and an atmosphere conducive to treatments and relaxation by the sea.
